Gomashie endorses Agyarko and Kwabena Agyepong for NPP national chairmanship

Ing Wisdom Edem Gomashie, a member of the Western Regional Communications Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has publicly expressed his support for Boakye Agyarko and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong as his preferred candidates for the position of National Chairman of the party.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday , 11 June, Gomashie described the two senior party figures as his top picks, adding that their leadership would be crucial as the NPP prepares to reorganize ahead of future electoral battles.

“Agyarko Boakye Kyeremateng & Kwabena Agyei Agyepong are my two picks for national chairman as we seek to re-organize,” he wrote. “I pray and hope one of them steps forward.”

His comments have sparked interest among party faithful and political observers, as both Agyarko and Agyepong are respected figures with long-standing histories in the NPP. Boakye Agyarko is a former Energy Minister and presidential aspirant, while Kwabena Agyepong served as the NPP’s General Secretary and is known for his advocacy for internal reforms.

While neither of the two has formally declared interest in the upcoming national executive elections, Gomashie’s endorsement adds to growing calls within sections of the party for experienced and principled leadership.

The NPP is expected to hold its national delegates’ conference in the coming months, where a new set of national executives will be elected to steer the affairs of the party.
